In an existing wall, sometimes a stud is in the way and needs to be cut to make room for the MantelMount RB100 Recess Box. The remaining studs in the wall might be too far apart for the Horizontal Braces (that come standard with each of our MantelMounts) to reach. Our MantelMount RBE10 Recess Box Extenders easily solve this problem because they reach up to 35 inches to align with the nearest studs in the wall for a very easy install. The covers that are included with the RB100 can still be used to cover the RBE10 Extenders, and painted to match the wall.

- Hello, The RB100 cut out dimensions are as follows, 28.2" tall, 7.4" wide and 3.7" deep. -MantelMount Team-
- My installer cut out the center stud above my fireplace to install a MM710 with recess box. The horizontal recess brace however was left out of the installation. What function does the recess brace serve and should I have the installer come back and complete its installation? I have a 65" Samsung currently mounted that weighs 55 pounds.

- Mantel is 10" deep. I have a stud in center of mantle and studs at 16" center on either side of the centrally located stud. What is best method/product for installation.

- What is considered recess? I have blocking framed out that is about 3/4 - 1" deep. Do I need a recess box extender for the MM540?
- Recessed is anything that isn't flat. For example, if you have an area 1/2" deep, that would be considered recessed. However, I'm not sure why you would need the recess box or extender in regards to your description.
